History of Salvador de Bahia

Founded by the Portuguese in 1549 as the first capital of Brazil, Salvador is one of the oldest colonial cities in the Americas.

Salvador was the first slave port in the Americas and the African influence of the slaves' descendants makes it a center of Afro-Brazilian (preto) culture. The city is noted for its cuisine, music, and architecture. Porto da Barra Beach in Barra has been named one of the best beaches in the world. Itaipava Arena Fonte Nova was the site of the city's games during the 2014 Brazilian World Cup.

The turbulent history of coffee has left a deep imprint on El Salvador’s history, politics and development. No other country in the region has depended as deeply on coffee, and the country’s fate has risen and fallen sharply with the boom and bust cycles brought by what Salvadorans call “el grano de oro” (the “grain of gold”.)

About Cafe de Bahia

Café de Bahia is a new concept and an innovation when it comes to the Coffee Shop Business.

The History of Café de Bahia starts in 2015 in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil by Emilio, a young Spanish student visiting Salvador de Bahia for his University Study. He was exposed to the unique taste of the coffee of the city of Bahia. That special taste remained in his memory and he brought it back with him to his home town of Barcelona, where he found the way to combine it into a business with the coffee taste and his University study by opening the first Coffee workshop, an excellent combination of the best coffee taste with a unique space in the middle of the city, providing a relaxing place for after-university to study.

Café de Bahia is expanding its Coffee shops to areas where people need a quiet space, such as in shopping centers, or in very busy areas in the city where this type of coffee shop is missing to study or have a noiseless space. This type of sensation is similar to a green area in the middle of an industrial area.

Café de Bahia is giving the client the feeling of a very private place and in the same time close to the work area or the city center, In the space of Café de Bahia, you will find bookshelves, printing services, a large variety of good food and sweets, and for sure the unique coffee menu of Salvador de Bahia.

Café de Bahia is expanding the Brazilian flavor of real coffee and the Brazilian atmosphere that is built from relaxation and good aromas to the entire world.
